After a long career in the entertainment industry, Terry transitioned to a new chapter by earning a graduate degree in counseling, followed by time spent serving as a chaplain. At his core, Terry is a helper who seeks to extend the ministry of the Lord wherever he goes. His call is similar to Abraham’s—not just in its later-in-life response but in his willingness to GO wherever God leads, ministering along the way.
Terry’s journey into ministry has unfolded gradually over the decades of his Christian walk, marked by his acceptance of the call and increasing kingdom responsibilities. At one point, he and his family had purchased land and built what they believed was their forever home. However, Terry began to sense God asking him to surrender not just the land and home, but everything he had accumulated in his pursuit of self-sufficiency. Little did he realize that this was just the beginning—God was calling him to let go of anything holding him back from fully embracing His call to fulfill the Great Commission.
In 2013, God brought us together in a way that both surprised and scared us. We were each coming out of seasons marked by loss and grief from previous marriages. Without knowing each other well, we both prayed separately one night, asking God to send a partner with a godly nature. The very next day, our prayers were answered. Over coffee, God made it clear we were meant to be married. After attending several premarital classes, we obeyed the Lord's instruction and became husband and wife.
Having experienced marriages without God at the center, we now deeply appreciate the difference of having Him guide our marriage for over 10 years. We understand the unique struggles marriages face and offer our support to help couples prepare for and strengthen their relationships.
In addition, we draw from our personal experiences with both big and little “t” traumas to help others move toward post-traumatic growth. While PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) focuses on the pain, we are passionate about guiding people toward PTG (post-traumatic growth)—helping them become stronger and more resilient because of what they’ve been through.
